The call for service came in about 1:40 AM on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 after a resident called 911 regarding a boat the collided with an object in the intracostal waterway.  The resident calling from a home in Redington Shores reported a loud crash and an unknown number of occupants.

Crews responded from Seminole Fire Rescue, Madeira Beach Fire Rescue, Pinellas SuncoastIMG950286_wm Fire & Rescue District (PSFRD), Sunstar Paramedics, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and US Coast Guard (USCG) were all dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, land based crews observed a boat that impacted into channel marker 25. Both Seminole Marine 29 and PSFRD Marine 27 arrived on scene shortly thereafter to find one occupant aboard with what is being called minor injuries.

The occupant was brought ashore and transported to Largo Medical Center Hospital by Sunstar for further medical evaluation.

The badly damaged boat could not be moved for the fear that it would begin to sink.  Marine units left the wreckage with USCG to secure the vessel and mark any navigational hazard.
