keystone0003Driver In Partially Submerged Vehicle Rescued by Good Samaritan

On April 19th at 7:35 PM, Richard Fenton, driving a 2008 Ford F150 was traveling westbound on Keystone Road east of Lora Lane. He was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle. The pickup truck began to rotate, departed the roadway onto the north shoulder, overturned several times into a pond and came to final rest on its driver side partially submerged. As a result of the position of final rest, Fenton was entrapped in the vehicle below the water line.

Witnesses and a Good Samaritan, Richard Glenn, 52, of Oldsmar stopped to provide assistance to Fenton. Glenn was able to keep Fenton above the water line until Fire Rescue units arrived to complete the rescue of Fenton. Mr. Glenn did experience minor injuries to his hand from breaking the windshield to access Fenton. Following Fenton’s extraction from the vehicle, he was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital with serious injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that Fenton was charged with careless driving.
