According to deputies, the victim, 67-year-old Lynn Aubert was sitting in a vehicle in front of her residence located at 210 Isle Drive in St. Pete Beach. Aubert was approached by a male suspect, now identified as 17 year-old Keo Elliot, who asked her to roll her window down so he could ask for directions.

Deputies say the Elliot then pulled a handgun from his waistband and demanded the victim’s purse. Aubert pressed down on the horn of the vehicle to attract attention. The suspect then reached into the vehicle, grabbed her purse and fled in a Honda CRV.

A deputy observed the suspect vehicle eastbound on the Pinellas Bayway. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect vehicle instead eluded the deputy and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit entered a residential zone in the area of 38th Way South and 50th Avenue.

According to deputies, at one point the suspect vehicle attempted a u-turn and was struck by the deputy cruiser. The suspect vehicle’s airbag deployed and the vehicle became disabled. Elliot; the driver, 18-year-old Kevin Thompson; 17-year-old Tiwan Jones; and fourth suspect, identity not yet confirmed, exited the car and fled on foot.

Sheriff’s Office Deputies and K-9 Unit deputies, with the assistance of St. Petersburg Police officers began to search and track the suspects.

All four suspects were apprehended within an hour and a half’s time. The four were arrested for armed robbery. The four were also arrested for grand theft auto when it was discovered that the vehicle they were driving had been stolen from St. Pete Police Department’s jurisdiction and reported stolen on October 29, 2013.

The adult suspects were transported to Pinellas County Jail without further incident. The juvenile suspects were transported to PJAC.

The suspect’s photos will be available once the booking process is complete.

The investigation continues.
