Georgia Woman Killed Friday Night in St. Petersburg Crash

The fatal crash occurred at about 7:16 PM on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 38th Avenue N and the I-275 northbound entrance ramp.

According to the St. Petersburg Police, 64 year-old Melba Stultz of Conyers, Georgia was traveling eastbound on 38th Avenue N in a 2016 Chevrolet Sonic. Stultz was attempting to make a left turn onto the I-275 northbound on-ramp.

She was struck by a 2006 Ford E150 van that was traveling westbound on 38th Avenue N. 51 year-old Anthony Vargas of Pinellas Park was driving the Ford van.

The front of the Ford made contact with the right passenger side of the Chevrolet.

Both Stultz and Vargas were transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

Stultz was pronounced deceased at the hospital and Vargas was treated for non-life
threatening injuries.

The investigation is still continuing.
