Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with a United Taxi Cab in Largo

Largo Police are currently investigating a fatality crash that occurred on 142nd Avenue at 66th Street. The crash occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 23, 2017.

Sydney Pender, age 27, was traveling southbound on 66th Street on a 2012 Yamaha motorcycle. Pender collided with a 2006 Ford United Taxi cab that attempted to make a left hand turn onto westbound 142nd Avenue from northbound 66th Street.

The driver of the United Taxi cab was identified as 51 year-old Gregory Church.  According to a witness, Church was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries and one passenger in the taxi was uninjured.

Paramedics declared Pender deceased at the scene of the crash.

According to investigators, alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The investigation is on-going at this time.
