At approximately 9:24 AM on Monday, March 23, 2015, Necia Austin who was driving a 2010 Chevy Van for G4S was struck head-on by a 2005 Toyota Camry driven by Christy Wilson of Kenneth City.

The crash occurred on 49th Street North just north of 110th Avenue North.  In 2013, G4S is the private company that began to provide prisoner transport services for the Sheriff’s Office.

According to investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, the Camry, driven by Wilson, was travelling southbound on 49th Street North. She lost control of the Toyota on the wet roadway causing her to cross the median and strike the front of the Transport Van head on as it was travelling northbound on 49th Street North in the median lane.

There was also a single passenger in PCSO custody, Duka Grbavac, who was handcuffed in the front of her body, and riding in the rear compartment of the van at the time of the crash.

All three parties were transported to local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The investigation continues.
