Firefighters from Pinellas Park, Lealman, Kenneth City, St. Petersburg, and Seminole all assisted with a structure fire this morning.

The fire was located in a duplex at 7140 50th Avenue in an unincorporated area of St. Petersburg.

Multiple calls were placed to 911 and fire crews were dispatched at about 7:35AM.  The structure was described as fully involved by the initial crews arriving on the scene.

Concerns of a roof collapse placed firefighters into defensive mode for a period of time.  No occupants were home at the time of the fire and no injuries were apparent.  The fire was brought under control after about 45 minutes.

Detectives assigned to the Sheriff’s Arson and Auto Theft Unit are investigating the cause of the fire.   According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, nobody was injured and the cause of the fire does not appear suspicious in nature at this time.

Crews on scene: E19, E16, E18, S29, D18, R19, T9, Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Sunstar Paramedics.
