Pinellas Park Police seeking the help of the public regarding a shooting/homicide

On Friday, July 12, 2013 at 12:53 AM, Pinellas Park police officers responded to 5021 69th Ave N, in reference to a shooting.

The victim, Gerald Way, was in front of a residence talking with several subjects when he was shot by an occupant of a vehicle. Way suffered a single gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported by friends to Northside Hospital. He was subsequently transported to Bayfront Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries.

Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses and following up leads in the case. No further information is being released at this time. Next of kin has been notified.
