St. Petersburg Woman Died After Being Struck by Road Debris on the Howard Frankland Bridge

Margaret Musto, age 65 of St. Petersburg, died from her injuries in an incident that occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018.

Margaret was a passenger in a 2017 Lexus RX300 traveling in the northbound lanes of I-275 on the Howard Frankland Bridge.  The vehicle was being driven by Glenn Musto in the right center lane approaching the hump of the bridge.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Musto’s were traveling behind a red sedan that ran over a piece of metal laying in the roadway.  The metal object was propelled toward the Lexus striking the hood then penetrating the windshield injuring Margaret Musto.

She was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital with critical injuries.  Glenn Musto was not physically injured in the incident.

FHP announced that Musto died from her injuries on April 14, 2018.
