The National Weather Service Tampa Bay has released information placing much of Central Florida under an slight or marginal risk of severe weather overnight.

Thunderstorms with strong winds, large hail, isolated tornadoes, frequent deadly lightning and brief periods of heavy rains that may cause street flooding are all possible.

This approaching cold front will start approaching the area about 2 AM Thursday morning and continue for a few hours as it travels south through Central Florida.  The bulk of the storm is expected to pass about 8-9 AM.

IONTB has been accepted as a NOAA Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador.
The Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador initiative is an effort to formally recognize NOAA partners who are improving the nation’s readiness against extreme weather, water, and climate events

Commuters should anticipate the possibility of wet roads in the morning and should allow for extra travel time.

It has been almost 13 years since the inception of IONTB. Our operating expenses are not huge by any stretch of imagination but funds are necessary for our continued survival.  We are asking for a one time contribution or contribution on a monthly basis to help continue IONTB to flourish and enhance the coverage of news in the Tampa Bay area. Think of it as just giving up just a couple of your favorite coffee drinks each month.
