Two Motorcyclists Killed Traveling on Seminole Blvd as Car Failed to Yield

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), two motorcyclists were were killed after a vehicle entered their path of travel on Seminole Blvd. The crash occurred about 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017.

The two occupants on the 1997 Honda motorcycle were traveling northbound on Seminole Blvd at 114th Avenue N.

At the same time, 66 year-old Daniel McLaughlin of Largo, was traveling westbound in a 2015 Volkswagen Golf, from a stop sign on 114th Avenue when he failed to yield to the traveling motorcycle.

The motorcycle struck the front left of the 2015 Volkswagen Golf which fatally wounded both riders on the Honda motorcycle.

According to FHP, a 40 year-old Jonathan Daniel Pierce and a 24 year-old Ashley Lynn Andree, both of Bradenton, Florida, died after being transported to local hospitals.

FHP states both riders were wearing helmets and that no alcohol was involved in the crash.

The investigation continues and charges are listed as pending.

There was a secondary crash involving a motorcycle very close to the initial crash scene. No information was immediately available regarding that crash.
