Woman Arrested After Driving Vehicle Into Seminole Home

At approximately 9:05 PM on Saturday, July 4, 2015, units were dispatached to a home in Seminole, Florida following reports of a vehicle crash involving the structure. The home is located in the Windtree Oaks Subdivision at 12274 Windtree Boulevard.
Units from Largo Fire Rescue, Seminole Fire Rescue, Pinellas Suncoast Fire Rescue, Sunstar and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. According to a press release from Cristen Smith of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stated that witnesses observed 46-year-old Cheri Tenney driving her 2005 GMC Envoy into the garage of the home about 8 PM.  While entering the garage, Tenney hit a portion of the garage before attempting to back out.

Just prior to the impact with the home, Tenney returned to her vehicle outside and began to rev the engine, before placing the vehicle in drive. Tenney was then observed driving the vehicle through the front window of her residence and out of the back of the residence. Tenney then placed the vehicle in reverse and backed the vehicle through the home and parked it in the front yard. Tenney exited the vehicle and returned inside the home.  Neighbors reported the Tenney was renting the home and attempts were being made to contact the owner.

A note was placed on the mailbox next to numerous items left by the curb.  The note read, Please take what my bastard boyfriend left. There are more things. He’s happy and I am happy he left. Take it all!”  Neighbor’s report that her boyfriend moved out and that she placed this items outside. According to deputies arrived on scene, Tenney was found inside the residence partially unclothed.

Tenney was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence, Battery on Law Enforcement Officer, and Resisting an Officer with Violence.Tenney was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.
