Lakewood High Student Killed in Crash on 54th Ave S Near the School
Multiple fire rescue crews and police were dispatchd to an extrication crash at 54th Avenue S and 16th Street at approximately 1:50 p.m on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.
All three of the vehicle’s occupants were 18 year-old students at Lakewood High School.
Two of the students were transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg and the driver Bryson Welton-Williams died at the scene.
Police say one student is in stable condition and the other in critical condition. They have been identified as Joshua Heath and Ramcharan Lattimore.
The car had just left Lakewood High School and was traveling west on 54th Ave S. when it hit a tree.
All lanes of 54th Ave S were closed during the investigation.
