15 Year-old Girl Walks into Path of Truck Near Palm Harbor High
The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating a crash the left a 15 year-old girl seriously injured.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:25 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Omaha Street and Delaware Avenue.
According to Troopers, a 17 year-old male, driving a 2000 Ford F250, was traveling eastbound on Delaware Avenue approaching 1900 Omaha Street (Palm Harbor University High School).
15 year-old Alexus Waytowich was walking south in the parking lot of 1900 Omaha Street approaching Delaware Avenue.
She attempted to cross Delaware Avenue, entered the westbound lane walking behind a stopped school bus, and entered into the eastbound lane of Delaware Avenue.
As a result, the Ford collided with Waytowich. She was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with non life-threatening but serious injuries.
Waytowich was cited as a pedestrian violating the right-of-way of the Ford truck.
