18-year-old arrested after shooting incident outside the Sundial in St. Petersburg

On April 8th, 2023, at approximately 11:00 p.m., officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department responded to 2nd Avenue North about a person shot. Officers located a 13-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Detectives determined that Deshayne McCullough, age 18, of St. Petersburg, shot the victim after a verbal argument before fleeing on foot.

The victim was transported to the hospital with
non-life-threatening injuries. McCullough was captured on a security camera firing a gun at the victim, according to arrest information.

McCullough was arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon causing Great Bodily Harm and Delinquent in Possession of a Firearm.

The investigation is still active and ongoing.
