An 18-year-old Seminole man was arrested in connection with a rollover crash late Feb. 5 in Pinellas County, according to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office arrest affidavit.
Deputies responded at approximately 11:44 p.m. to 5220 71st Street North in reference to a single-vehicle crash that resulted in a rollover. Upon arrival, a heavily damaged white Chevy Tahoe was found upside down in the roadway. The vehicle was registered to Shaun Duane Robinette Jr., of Seminole.
A witness told deputies that two white males were seen fleeing the scene westbound on 52nd Avenue North. The original reporting party stated her doorbell camera did not capture video of the crash but recorded audio of two males discussing leaving the scene. One male was heard saying, “Your truck’s upside down,” and referred to the other as “Shaun.”
Dispatch later advised of a call from a reporting party at the nearby Red Tiki Bar and Grill, consistent with the direction of travel provided by the witness. The caller stated she overheard a white male, whom she knew personally and who shared the defendant’s first name, talking about wrecking his Tahoe after shooting at an Uber driver.

According to the affidavit, the defendant’s father confirmed Robinette was not home and had turned off his location tracking. Investigators later learned Robinette arrived at his ex-girlfriend’s residence during the night with visible injuries and showed her photographs of the overturned Tahoe, admitting he had been involved in a crash that caused it to roll.
The crash damaged four traffic drums, valued at approximately $75 each, for a total estimated property damage of $300.
Robinette was charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, a misdemeanor under Florida Statute 316.061(1).
He was arrested Feb. 11 at 7:51 p.m. and booked into the Pinellas County Jail. Bond was set at $150.
