St. Petersburg, FL — A 13-year-old 8th-grade student at Azalea Middle School was arrested today after authorities discovered a gun and a kitchen knife in his backpack.
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, there were no threats made to students or the school, either verbally or in writing.

The student now faces two charges of possession of a weapon on school property.
