Largo Officer C. Leuallen noticed a subject riding a bicycle with shoes that matched prior surveillance images from recent robberies in the city. The subject on the bike, Jose Luis Collazo Rodriguez, age 30 of Clearwater, attempted to flee when Officer Leuallen approached. According to Lieutenant Paul Amadeo of the Largo Police Department, Collazo Rodriguez attempted to discard two realistic looking pellet guns as officer caught up to him and placed him into custody without incident.

After a thorough investigation, the Largo Police have charged Collazo Rodriguez with five counts robbery with a weapon and resisting arrest without violence.

Collazo Rodriquez is the same suspect from a sting of recent armed robberies that began on March 24, 2015 at the Subway location at 1200 N. Missouri Avenue.  He returned to the identical location again on April 21, 2015 and another nearby Subway on April 10, 2015.  On Monday, April 27th, Collazo Rodriguez also reportedly robbed the 7-Eleven at 403 Clearwater Largo Road.
