Revenge Against Clearwater High Students Lands Man in Jail Again

Posted: November 2, 2015 – 8 PM

It was back on August 31, 2015 that 18 year-old James Robert Harrison allegedly hid drugs and weapons in a vehicle on the Clearwater High School Campus.  Harrison is not a student at the school but did attend Clearwater High School during the 2014-2015 year.

On Sunday, Harrison’s actions seeking revenge against a witness in that case landed him in jail once again.

On August 31, according to arrest records, Harrison entered a locked 1998 Honda in the parking lot of Clearwater High School located at 540 Hercules Avenue.  Officers report that he placed a Smith & Wesson .38 caliber handgun, knife, and 52 grams of marijuana in the vehicle.  His actions were observed by a witness that provided a statement to police.

Harrison allegedly directed another person to contact the school resource officer and Crimestoppers to report it.  This was an attempt to have the 17 year-old female student driving the car arrested and removed from the school.  He admitted that he was seeking revenge against that student.  Specific details have not been released.

He was arrested for felony possession of marijuana on school grounds, removal of the serial number on a firearm, possession of a firearm on school property, armed burglary, and armed trespass on school grounds.  He was released on $25,000 bail on September 5, 2015.

On Sunday, November 1, 2015, Harrison was arrested again after being accused of attempting to exact revenge on another female victim.  This victim had provided critical information to police related to the events that occurred on August 31st.  The witness in the case received a Snapchat message on at least two separate occasions.  These messages included her parents name and home address.  It was determined that these messages were a clear attempt to intimidate a witness in the criminal case against him.

Due to this witness intimidation, Harrison is being held in the Pinellas County Jail and his bond has been revoked.  Two charges of tampering with a witness have been added against him.

His arraignment is scheduled on November 9, 2015.
