Clearwater Police are currently investigating a person shot on David Ave.
Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a shooting call shortly after 9 this evening at 305 David Ave.
Rob Shaw with Clearwater Public Safety reports that one person was shot and suffered what appears to be injuries that are not life-threatening.
The suspect is in custody and being questioned. The parties involved were known to each other and got involved in an altercation that escalated; this was not a random event.
The suspect was taken into custody on Drew Street east of US-19.
The victim was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for treatment for a gunshot wound to the leg. The investigation continues.
