25 year-old Jamie Aleckson Halley of Land O’ Lakes was killed in a crash on Saturday, February, 18, 2017. The crash occurred at the intersection of US Hwy 41 and 2nd Avenue SE in Lutz, Florida at approximately 6:06 PM.
According to FHP, Halley was traveling northbound on US Hwy 41 at a high rate of speed on a Suzuki GSX1300. At the same time, a 40 year-old man from Lutz was traveling southbound on US Hwy 41 in a 2006 Ford van and attempted to turn left onto 2nd Avenue SE.
As a results of the crash, Halley’s motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the van. Halley sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the van was not injured in the incident.
According to the report, alcohol was not involved and Halley was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
FHP states that no charges are pending.
