St. Petersburg Police Make Arrest in Incident That Left a USF Student Critically Wounded
UPDATE: 23 year-old Zachary Kenneth Allen of Largo, was brought to St. Petersburg Police Headquarters for questioning this afternoon.
He will be transported to the Pinellas County Jail and charged with aggravated battery with great bodily harm.

The St. Petersburg Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying three men that were involved in a felony battery in downtown St. Petersburg on St. Patrick’s Day night.
On Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 2:10 a.m., at the northwest corner of Central Avenue and 2nd Street, in front of Detroit Liquors, an altercation occurred where a man punched another man in the face.
The man that was punched in the face, a 26 year-old University of South Florida student, Brian Scott Neal, immediately fell backward, striking his head on the pavement. He incurred very serious head injuries and is in critical condition at a local hospital.
There were two other men with the man who threw the punch.
Video shows the three men involved in the altercation.
