Woman Shoots Live-In Boyfriend in Pinellas Monday Morning
Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence at 4301 28th Street North, at approximately 11:54 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2017, regarding a report of an armed person.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they found, 26-year-old Ericka Harvey standing in the doorway and, 39-year-old Antonie McElroy, lying on the floor inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to his mid-section.
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Bayfront Medical Center for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies interviewed Harvey, who admitted to shooting her live-in boyfriend McElroy after a verbal argument over cellphone usage and the suspicion of cheating. Deputies recovered the 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun involved in the shooting, inside the residence.
Harvey was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Battery-Domestic.
Harvey was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.
The investigation continues.
