House fire in Feathersound leaves family dog dead
At about 4:50pm today, multiple units were dispatched to a house fire in the 14200 block of Shearwater Court in the Unincorporated area of Pinellas County. The house is located in the Feathersound area off of Ulmerton Road near the St. Petersburg Clearwater Airport.
The fire was spreading rapidly through the attic of the home and took about 30 minutes to bring under control. Resources were on-scene from Pinellas Park, St. Petersburg and Largo Fire Departments along with Duke Energy and Sunstar.
The family dog did parish in the home as it was unable to escape during the fire. No other injuries were reported at the time.
The State Fire Marshall was notified and an investigation continues into the cause of the fire.
