Police Say 24 People Victimized After Allowing Randy’s Pianos in Largo to Take in Pianos on Consignment

Over the course of the last 6 months, Largo Police Department Economic Crimes Detective Lara Young spent countless hours investigating Randy’s Pianos, located at 5047 Ulmerton Road, in reference to theft allegations.

Business owner 47 year-old Randall Sheets took in pianos on consignment from various people over the course of several years, sold the property, and used the funds for personal gain.

Victims had attempted to find out what happened to their pianos, only to be told many different stories by Sheets as to the status of their sales.

On January 3, 2017, Randall Sheets declared bankruptcy and closed his business. He failed to pay back any of the victims. The Largo Police Department began receiving theft reports shortly after the business closed.

Total amount owed to the victims: $253,070.00

Sheets is being charged with Scheme to Defraud, Grand Theft, and Theft from persons 65 years of age.

On Monday, July 10, 2017, Sheets was booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
