Driver Killed and Passenger Seriously Injured in Crash on Belcher Road in Largo
At approximately 9:33 a.m. on October 9, 2017, Largo Police Department officers responded to a serious traffic crash in the area of North Belcher Road and Grove Place.
A gray Nissan Altima, driven by 23 year-old Christopher Gonzalez was traveling north in the median lane of Belcher Road when the vehicle left its lane and struck a Chevrolet heavy truck stopped in the shared center turn lane.

Gonzalez was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The passenger in the Nissan, 22 year-old Alfredo Jaimes, was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with unspecified injuries. Investigators say he is expected to survive.
