Woman Killed in Palm Harbor Crash Wednesday Morning
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) continues to investigate a fatality crash that occurred on East Lake Road in Palm Harbor.
The crash occurred shortly after 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018.
According to Troopers, 32 year-old Erin Hodges of Holiday, FL was traveling southbound on East Lake Road in a 2000 Ford Explorer. She was in the southbound inside lane south of Sandy Point Road when she traveled into the shoulder on the west side of the roadway.
It is believed that she over-corrected back onto the roadway causing the Explorer to overturn several times.
The Ford came to rest in the south outside lane and shoulder of East Lake Road.
Hodges was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital where she died from her injuries.
FHP does not believe impairment was a factor in the crash but indicated that Hodges was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
All lanes reopened at approximately 11:30 a.m.
The investigation continues.
