Seminole Man Dies in Pinellas Park Crash on Park Boulevard Thursday Morning
Pinellas Park Police are investigating a crash that killed 47 year-old Nobuaki Okuhara of Seminole.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018 in the 7500 block of Park Boulevard.
Pinellas Park Police Patrol Units responded to the single vehicle crash. During the initial investigation it was determined that Okuhara’s vehicle, a 2005 Infiniti had been traveling westbound on Park Blvd in the 7500 block in the curb lane.
For an unknown reason, Nobuaki lost control of the vehicle which spun on the wet road and first struck a chain link fence, and then a power pole on the north side of Park Blvd. As a result of the crash, both Nobuaki and 41 year-old Reiri Okuhara were transported to a local hospital for their injuries.
Police say that at the time of the initial investigation neither occupant’s injuries were considered life threatening.
This evening investigators were notified by the hospital that the driver, Nobuaki Okuhara, had died as a result of his injuries sustained during the crash.
Pinellas Park Police Traffic Homicide Investigators will be assigned to conduct a Traffic Homicide Investigation as a result of Mr. Okuhara’s death.
Westbound traffic on Park Blvd in the 7500 block was shut down for several hours earlier in the day as Duke Energy worked to replace the damaged power pole. All lanes were opened earlier this afternoon.
