Teen Struck by a Vehicle on East Lake Road Critically Injured Headed to School
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a crash that left 15 year-old Janeva Buczynski of Palm Harbor with critical injuries. The crash occurred at approximately 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2018.
Michelle Nash, age 51 of Holiday was traveling southbound on East Lake Road in a 2004 Saturn approaching Pine Ridge Boulevard under a green traffic signal.
Buczynski, on a bicycle, was headed to East Lake High School and attempted to cross East Lake Road, westbound in the crosswalk. She entered into the path of the Saturn.
Buczynski was thrown from the bicycle and struck the windshield. She was flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa with critical injuries.
The roadway reopened at approximately 7:27 a.m.
Troopers say that Nash was cited for driving with a suspended license.
