Pedestrian seriously injured in crash on Highland Ave in Clearwater

Pedestrian struck by vehicle on Highland Ave in Clearwater

Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a crash involving a pedestrian this evening just after 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2019.

It occurred in the 1700 block of North Highland Avenue.

Police say an adult male was taken via Bayflite to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa after being struck and sustaining serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle who struck the pedestrian remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Highland Avenue between Greenlea Drive and Sandy Lane is closed as the investigation is conducted.
