Tarpon Springs Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist. The crash occurred on Wednesday, February 5th, 2020 at approximately 6:30 p.m.
The Tarpon Springs Police and Fire Departments responded to a two vehicle crash on Tarpon Ave west of US Highway 19.
The crash involved a Chevrolet pickup truck and a
Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The operator of the motorcycle struck the side of the truck as it was making a left turn into the Walmart complex located at 41232 US 19.
The unhelmeted motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to Trinity hospital where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the truck, suffered minor injuries and was transported, treated and released from Advent Health North Pinellas Hospital.
The investigation is ongoing but it does not appear alcohol or drugs were involved according to Major Jeffrey P. Young
