Motorcyclist critically injured in crash on US Hwy 19 in Largo

The Largo Police Department is currently investigating a crash in the southbound lanes of US Hwy 19 in 17000 block.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:33 p.m. on Monday, May 24, 2021.

The Largo Police Department says a reckless motorcycle operator was traveling at a high rate of speed, when he lost control and crashed into a southbound traveling Audi SUV. The operator was thrown from the Honda motorcycle and transported by ambulance to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with a serious head injury. He is currently listed in critical condition. 

The Largo Police Departments Traffic Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and conducted the investigation.  US Hwy 19 was shut down for 3 hours, but opened back up by 9:45 p.m.
