Officers from the Pinellas Park Police Department as currently working to identify a subject that punched a Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) bus driver in the face.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the PSTA transit station located 3801 70th Avenue N in Pinellas Park.
Officers received a call about a passenger who attacked the driver of the bus. The male bus driver sustained significant facial injuries after being punched by a male subject. It was reported that the subject boarded the bus near 34th St and 50th Ave N. The bus driver asked the subject to put on a face covering while boarding the bus, but the subject refused to put on a mask.
This attack was unprovoked and occurred while the subject was exiting the bus stopped at the PSTA Transit Station located at 3801 70th Ave. The subject fled the area on foot and was unable to be located by responding officers. The subject is described as a black male, approximately 30 years of age, with a short beard and short dreadlocks. The subject was wearing a white t-shirt with a grey Supreme satchel, Gatorade towel, and small dark sunglasses.
The Pinellas Park Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance
with identifying and locating the subject who struck the bus driver.
