Arrest made after body found off Sand Key Park in Clearwater

Clearwater Police announced the arrest of a suspect after a body was located in the waters around Clearwater’s Sand Key Park.

The body of 48 year-old Lonnie Wilson was found just prior to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021.

On Friday, December 10, 2021, detectives arrested 29 year-old Shane Dugan and charged him with manslaughter in connection with the death of Wilson.

Detectives learned that Dugan threw Wilson off a boat during an argument the night before, in the intracoastal waterway near the Clearwater pass.
