Investigation underway following an altercation resulting in two men with gunshot injuries

Two adult men suffered gunshot wounds after an altercation in the 2100 block of 9th Avenue South.

At approximately 3 p.m., Friday, May 26, 2023, a report of the shooting reached the officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers were informed that one man, whose injuries were not life-threatening, had already been transported to the hospital by a private vehicle.

Another individual involved in the incident had left the initial scene and was found several blocks away. Due to the seriousness of his condition, he was promptly taken to the hospital via ambulance.

Presently, detectives are actively investigating the matter, although no further details have been disclosed at this time.
