Father charged after two-year-old shot and killed at a home in St. Petersburg

At about 8:10 p.m., on Sunday, May 28, 2023, officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department responded to 4644 15th Avenue S. for a two-year-old boy who suffered a gunshot wound inside the home. 

The child’s father, 22-year-old Aaron Creary, tried to drive him to the hospital but lost control on 34th Street S. at 15th Avenue and crashed in the parking lot of a closed business. 

The child, Armani Creary, was transported to the hospital, where he later died. 

Aaron Creary and his son live at his parent’s home at 4644 15th Avenue South.
He reportedly got into a verbal altercation with his parents in the house. According to police, “He pulled out a gun, and it fired, striking his son.”

According to arrest reports, Aaron Creary was charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child and violation of probation. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail shortly after 4 a.m. on Monday, May 29, 2023.
