Arrest Made in Oldsmar Robbery: Adult Male and Three Juveniles Apprehended

Crimes Against Children Unit detectives from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office have apprehended an adult male and three juveniles in connection with a robbery incident that took place in Oldsmar.

The events unfolded on June 14, 2023, around 10:00 p.m. when deputies responded to a distress call from 15-year-old Christian Cruz near US Highway 19 and Tampa Road. Cruz informed the deputies that his two companions had been stabbed and required immediate assistance.

Deputies promptly located the injured individuals, identified as 15-year-old Jalen Stephens and 20-year-old Julian Moore, who had sustained non-life-threatening stab wounds. They were promptly transported to the hospital for treatment.

As the investigation commenced, another juvenile named Camden Drachbar dialed 911 and reported his encounter with three males in the parking lot of 3675 Tampa Road in Oldsmar. Drachbar had arranged to meet them for a marijuana transaction via Snapchat. However, during the exchange, the males assaulted him and forcefully stole a handgun from his backpack. The altercation escalated, resulting in Drachbar being thrown to the ground. Stephens pilfered Drachbar’s backpack, removing both the marijuana and the firearm, before engaging in a physical confrontation with Drachbar. During the altercation, Drachbar resorted to using a knife and ended up stabbing both Stephens and Moore. Moore subsequently picked up the firearm from the ground and took it into their vehicle as they departed the scene.

Based on the evidence gathered during the investigation, the detectives determined that Drachbar had arrived at the designated parking lot to sell marijuana to the three individuals he had connected with on Snapchat. While conversing with them from outside their vehicle, an additional person approached Drachbar from behind, restraining him in a bear hug, before forcefully tossing him into the vehicle, causing him to hit his forehead. Drachbar was then thrown to the ground, leading to the subsequent theft of his belongings.

Charges have been filed against the involved parties as follows: Julian Moore has been charged with Robbery, Grand Theft of a Firearm, and Three Counts of Child Abuse. He has been transported to the Pinellas County Jail. Christian Cruz and Jalen Stephens face charges of Robbery and have been transported to the Pinellas County Juvenile Assessment Center. Camden Drachbar, on the other hand, has been charged with Carrying a Concealed Firearm and has been transported to the Pinellas County Juvenile Assessment Center.
