On Saturday, September 23, at approximately 7 p.m., the 20-ish-year-old female driver of a red Volkswagen sedan traveling north on 49th Street North made a left turn onto westbound Ninth Avenue North. This maneuver placed the sedan in the path of a southbound Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The driver of the southbound Harley Davidson motorcycle, 59-year-old Keith Thibodaux “EZ,” collided with the front passenger corner of the Volkswagen. Tragically, Thibodaux died at the scene.

The driver of the Volkswagen was subsequently transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
