State Fire Marshal assisting with investigation following a fatality fire in St. Petersburg

At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2023, St. Petersburg Fire Rescue responded to the 1200 block of 48th Street N
for reports of a house on fire.

Units arrived to find a home with smoke from all sides. Crews searched the house for victims and found one person deceased.

The victim was removed from the house, and no other injuries have been reported.

The situation is under control, and an investigation has been initiated.

No information currently on the victim’s identity is releasable at this time.
