At approximately 8:26 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, Pinellas Park Police Department and Fire Department responded to the area of 52nd Street N and 80th Terrace N for a vehicle collision involving two pedestrians.
Once Police and Fire personnel were on the scene, it was determined two five-year-old juveniles had been struck by a passing vehicle. Both juveniles were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Through the investigation, it was determined the driver of the Hyundai was traveling south on 52nd St N, approaching 80th Terrace N, when two juveniles darted across the roadway. The Gray Hyundai Kona struck the juveniles with the front of the vehicle as the juveniles were crossing east to west, midblock.
The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation. Investigators say that neither speed nor impairment were contributors to this crash.
Both juveniles are in stable condition.
