Pedestrian killed in crash while attempting to cross 66th Street Tuesday evening

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) continue to investigate a crash that killed a pedestrian crossing 66th Street N.

The crash occurred on November 21, 2023, at 8:54 PM when the 42-year-old female driver from Safety Harbor was operating a Toyota Sienna minivan. The minivan was heading northbound on 66th Street North in the outer lane.

A pedestrian, a 36-year-old woman from Pinellas Park, attempted to cross 66th Street north of 54th Avenue North. According to investigators, the pedestrian entered the path of the minivan and was subsequently struck.

Following the collision, the pedestrian was transported to St. Petersburg General where she later died from her injuries.
