The Tarpon Springs Police Department received a call about a disturbance at 1125 Clarissa Ct. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at approximately 2:42 a.m.
Upon arrival of officers, the victim (a 45-year-old male) was located within the residence with an apparent gunshot wound.
Another occupant of the residence advised officers that he shot the victim. Medical personnel arrived and began treatment of the victim, who was transported to Advent Health North Pinellas, where he was pronounced deceased at 3:57 am.
Richard Lewis, age 54, has been arrested and charged with Murder in the First degree. He is currently being held without bond in the Pinellas County Jail.
Police say there is no danger to the public, and no further information is being released.
