Tampa, FL — A fatal accident occurred on the Veterans Expressway near Milepost 8 at approximately 4:00 PM on June 18, 2024. The crash involved a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Ford F150 with a trailer.
The Harley Davidson motorcycle was initially in the express entrance lane, while the Ford F150 with a trailer was in the outside travel lane. As the vehicles approached the area, the motorcyclist moved to the inside lane, colliding with several reflective delineators. The impact caused the motorcyclist to overturn into the other travel lanes, and the motorcycle collided with a tire of the Ford F150 with a trailer.
The motorcyclist, a 65-year-old male from Trinity, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the truck, a 26-year-old male from Port Richey, was uninjured.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
