On Thursday, Sept. 19, at 2:02 p.m., a 2006 maroon Toyota Avalon sedan traveling westbound in the 1100 block of 54th Avenue North at a high rate of speed and recklessly through traffic collided with a 2005 maroon Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck at the intersection of 54th Avenue North and 12th Street North.
Just before the crash, the 18-year-old driver of the Chevy pickup truck, who was traveling southbound on 12th Street North, had made a stop at the intersection of 54th Ave. N. and 12th St. N. He was attempting to cross 54th Avenue North when the crash occurred.

The 18-year-old driver was taken to a local hospital, where he was last listed in critical but stable condition.
