Fatal Bicycle Crash Involving Child at 63rd Avenue North and 12th Street in St. Petersburg

At approximately 6:34 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2024, a child riding his bicycle was struck by a Kia SUV.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the crash occurred as the 9-year-old child was riding a bicycle near the intersection of 63rd Avenue North and 12th Street North. He was transported to a local emergency room, where he died from his injuries.

The SUV driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with law enforcement as the investigation continues.

Authorities have closed 12th Street North to traffic between 62nd and 64th Avenue North as officers work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. This is an ongoing investigation; updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
