Homicide Investigation Continues at TGM Bay Isles Apartments in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg, FL – A 15-year-old boy was fatally shot on Wednesday evening at the TGM Bay Isles apartments, located at 11850 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North.

Police responded to reports of a shooting just before 6 p.m. and found 15-year-old Tomohnd Newkirk suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency personnel transported Newkirk to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the homicide.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the St. Petersburg Police Department at 727-893-7780. Those wishing to remain anonymous can text “SPPD + tip” to TIP411.
