Pedestrian Dies After Late-Night Crash on Gulf-To-Bay Boulevard in Clearwater

Clearwater, FL – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle late Thursday night at Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard and Thornton Road.

Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to the crash at 11:38 p.m. According to authorities, a westbound 2020 Jeep struck a 37-year-old man who was attempting to cross Gulf-to-Bay from south to north.

The pedestrian was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Officials stated that neither speed nor alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The case remains under investigation.
