St. Petersburg Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying SUV Involved in Hit-and-Run

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Police traffic investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a black SUV involved in a hit-and-run incident that left a man seriously injured. The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

A 62-year-old man was riding an electric scooter southbound on 34th Street North when he fell while attempting to turn east onto 22nd Avenue North. A black SUV traveling behind the scooter ran over the man and fled the scene eastbound on 22nd Avenue North.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to the trauma center at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg.

Investigators have released a photo of the damaged electric scooter in connection with the case. The suspect vehicle was described as a black SUV, but no details were released.
