Shooting Incident on Interstate 4 Leaves St. Petersburg Man Unharmed

A 34-year-old St. Petersburg man narrowly escaped injury early Sunday morning, April 6, 2025, after a motorcyclist fired multiple rounds at his vehicle on Interstate 4. The incident, which occurred at approximately 2:28 AM west of Interstate 275, has prompted an investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

According to authorities, the victim was driving westbound in his Honda CR-V when he noticed a group of motorcyclists behaving erratically alongside another unidentified vehicle. Concerned by their actions, the man began recording the motorcyclists with his cell phone. Moments later, one of the motorcyclists pulled alongside the Honda and opened fire with a handgun.

Multiple bullets struck the victim’s vehicle, but the victim sustained no injuries. The suspect fled the scene with the other motorcyclists, leaving the shaken driver behind.

The suspected shooter has been described as a white male with a medium build. Witnesses reported that he was wearing a jacket bearing the logo “Outlaws MC,” suggesting a possible affiliation with the Outlaws Motorcycle Club, a known motorcycle group. No additional details about the suspect or the accompanying motorcyclists have been released.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Florida Highway Patrol at *FHP (*347) or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS, where they can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
