St. Petersburg Police continue to investigate a homicide following a shooting that occurred late Saturday night.
Shortly after 11 p.m. on April 12, 2025, officers responded to reports of gunfire at 2421 11th Street South. Upon arrival, they found a young boy in the driveway with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The victim, identified as 13-year-old Jaden Hill of Largo, later died from his injuries. His family has been notified.
Detectives initially determined the gunfire came from an unknown vehicle. Information released on April 14th shows that 14-year-old Markus Carr was sitting in a vehicle at 2421 11th St. S., with the victim, Jaden Hill.
Carr pointed a gun while Hill recorded him on a cell phone. Carr fired the handgun, shooting Hill.
Carr was arrested and charged with 2nd-degree murder.
Detectives are still working to determine where the gun came from and whether
it was stolen.
